Every advertising word, explained once

You don’t need this vocabulary to run your campaign — Sellvia handles all of it. But when a word comes up, here’s what it means, in one sentence.

A

Think of it as a prepaid tank. You add money to it, and your campaign draws from it each day at your daily budget. When it reaches zero, the campaign pauses — nothing else is charged.

Where you’ll see it: Your dashboard shows your balance and how many days it will last.

The visual part of an ad — the product image or short video people see. Sellvia makes these from your products, in the sizes each placement needs, so you never design anything.

The headline and text that appear with the image. Good copy makes a stranger curious enough to click. Sellvia writes it for every product and keeps it within the advertising rules so ads don’t get rejected.

Instead of showing your ads to everyone, a campaign shows them to people more likely to be interested — based on what they browse and buy. Sellvia picks and refines your audience as the campaign learns.

Where you’ll see it: In your results as “People reached.”

B

The number of orders needed so that your profit from them equals your ad spend. Below it, ads cost more than they brought in; above it, the campaign is paying for itself.

Where you’ll see it: The Ad Payback Calculator shows your break-even number.

C

Everything that makes your ads run: which products are promoted, who sees them, and how much is spent per day. On Sellvia your Main Campaign is built in advance — you turn it on.

Where you’ll see it: Your dashboard, under your campaign.

A visit becomes a conversion when the person completes an order. Not every visitor converts, and that’s normal — it depends on your products, prices and store.

Where you’ll see it: Counted in your dashboard as Orders.

D

You set it — $10, $15, $20, $30 or $50 a day. It’s a ceiling, not a target: the campaign never spends more than that in a day, and it comes out of your ad balance.

Where you’ll see it: Set it in your dashboard; change or pause anytime.

I

Every time your ad appears on someone’s screen, that’s an impression. Impressions are always a much bigger number than visits — most people who see an ad don’t click it, and that’s expected.

Where you’ll see it: Shown as “People reached” in your dashboard.

L

A new campaign doesn’t know yet which people buy from your store, so it tries different groups and keeps what works. This is why the first days can look quiet — and why stopping and restarting sets it back.

Where you’ll see it: Your campaign status shows when it’s still learning.

M

It advertises every product in your store rather than one item. It’s pre-installed for every Sellvia store and is where owners start — from $10 a day.

Where you’ll see it: Your dashboard, as your main campaign.

Your profit on an order divided by its price. A higher margin means more room to advertise and still come out ahead.

Where you’ll see it: Work it out in the Sales Goal Calculator.

O

The number everything else is for. Orders happen in your store as normal; your dashboard counts the ones that came while your campaign was running.

Where you’ll see it: Your dashboard, as Orders.

P

The same ad needs different shapes and sizes depending on where it shows up. Sellvia prepares each one, so you never think about formats.

The selling price minus what the product costs you and any other per-order costs like fees or packaging. It’s the number that decides how many orders it takes to cover your ads.

Where you’ll see it: Use it in the Ad Payback and Sales Goal calculators.

R

The count of people your campaign put your store in front of. Bigger than visits, because seeing isn’t clicking.

Where you’ll see it: Your dashboard, as People reached.

S

When orders come in steadily, you can move the daily budget up a step so more people see your store each day. The campaign doesn’t change — only its reach.

Where you’ll see it: Change the budget in your dashboard, one step at a time.

The first sign a campaign is working. Visits usually appear before orders, because people look before they buy.

Where you’ll see it: Your dashboard, as Store visits.

T

Deciding which people should see your ads — normally a skill you’d have to learn. On Sellvia it’s handled for you and adjusted as the campaign learns.

When your balance runs low, you add more so the campaign keeps running. Your dashboard shows how many days are left, so you can top up before it pauses.

Where you’ll see it: Your dashboard, under your ad balance.

Good news: you don’t have to remember any of it.

Sellvia handles the targeting, the creatives and the daily work. You set a budget and turn the campaign on.
